I’m more trying to go into the documentary/filmmaking business instead to be totally honest. So I might just have a different out look, but I feel that their are people who just view photography and film as a career and some who view it as their life. Also please don’t tell me to come off my ego trip after you wrote an essay condemning a film’s realness, when you haven’t even seen the movie yet. You have absolutely no evidence that it’s fake at all. In your first point you admit it might be possible to sneak into the venue with a wrist band. In your second point you say you can only shoot from the photo pit for three songs, which is true, but you can still film from other parts of the venue through out the whole show. In your third point you say you will get kicked off stage if you don’t have contact with the artists, but ignore the fact that he was in contact with Mumford and sons. In your 4th point you question why he says he shot with a analog camera but most of the trailer seems to be digitally shot, which is easily explained by the idea that he was shooting with two different cameras, seeing as the trailer shows us shots of him shooting with a film camera and also a dslr. You also claim he used crane shots/ helicopter shots in the trailer, which I didn’t notice at all. And even if they are their he might have access to cranes after touring with Mumford and sons, or might have obtained that footage from a 3rd party. Your 5th point is the only one that makes any sense at all, but seems to be explained in interviews with Haney, as he says most of the bands supported him.

Hi Jesse, thanks for your comment. I strongly believe and know from my experience that no one want to work with people who act like this. I don´t mind what you´re doing and how you´re doing it and I wish you much success with your strategy. But believe me, if you´re planing to become a serious concert photographer or you want to work with bands directly you better step down from your ego trip…otherwise your career will be over really fast (once you´re blacklisted by bands managements and promotors it´´´get hard)

As long as I’m not hurting anyone, I will do what ever it takes to get my shot. I’ll break into abandoned buildings, hop fences, and sneak past cops to get the right angle. That’s how much photography and film mean to me. I’m sure many people work hard to become “Honest-Concernt Photographers”, but if you have the opportunity to take an amazing picture and the law/lack of funds stand in your way so you back down, can you really claim to be a true photographer? Or are you only a photographer when it is convenient and safe for you?

To hell with all the grouches, I loved your film.
Love all the people on here that apparently never HAD to get into a sold out show. And now you’re branded as some sort of crook? Well, I’m right there with you. Managed to get into shows and work my way into really good positions on shows by The Stones, Zeppelin, Springsteen and plenty of others as a kid.
Wonderful film. Made me feel sixteen again.

Hi Sophie! Thank you for your comment and sharing your knowledge about this controversial topic here. It´s not about doing things differently and I am by far not a hater of Marcus. As I said before I wrote about my experiences as pro music photographer and if it´s so easy to sneak in, than probably the security issues in the US are different. I am just wondering why bands will sue you if you just print your pics on T shirts and sell them (which obviously is stealing their merch) on one hand but on the other hand everyone is cool by sneaking in, making illegal video (!) footage, selling it to the media and gets hyped as you are the coolest guys around. I mean, if I were a guy in the music manager, I would be pissed and I am sure it´s a really bad reputation for all the concert organizers. Anyhow. congrats if you made it, but I wouldn´t be so proud of sneaking in and doing things in an illegal way. Hope you don´t get blacklisted.
