Thanks so much Veronica for your comment Great to read that you’re also passionate about music and photography. I know it can be overwhelming in the beginning and therefore I published my “Beginners Guide To Concert Photography” where I cover all the basics you’ll need to know to get started in this field. Check it out here and let me know if you have any questions: https://www.howtobecomearockstarphotographer.com/beginners-guide-concert-photography-video-course/

i enjoyed reading your post, I felt identified because I am an accountant and I spent almost all day in an office, recently I ask for a day off at my job to do some errands and I realized how much I was missing by spending all day in my office, it was the simplest thing that made my realize it, just watching what a beautiful and sunny day was outside and I thought how many days like that I was missing just by being inside a building all day. So I started thinking what was the things I like the most and how can i practice it to improve my life.

I love music and have a camera Nikon Coolpix P600, so I am thinking doing a photography course to now the essentials of photography since I have never taken pictures as a hobby but would like to start and someday take photos of concerts. I am from Venezuela and there are not much concerts, also is not a good idea to carry a camera with me, but I am planning to move to another country and maybe start this hobby that i found so beautiful and enjoy music as well.

Hope you have a great day.

Hi Andreza! Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, I know it´s hard being a music photographer, but doing the things you love the most is the best decision you can take in life. You might need a day job to pay the bills or shoot weddings as well, but this is simply how it is. You can find more inspirational stories from the best music photographers on my podcast: https://www.howtobecomearockstarphotographer.com/podcast/. Love your photos and all the best for your future!

Hi Jordan, thanks for reaching out. There is no school for concert photography with the exception of my my online academy http://www.shootingtherocsktars.com. The best to get started is here: https://www.howtobecomearockstarphotographer.com/guidetoconcertphotography/

Hi Emily. Thanks so much for your comment. I am happy to hear that you like my blog. I wouldn´t buy a 85mm for your crop sensor camera since it’ll become a 135mm focal length. I would rather go with a 50mm or 35mm f1.8. Read more here: https://www.howtobecomearockstarphotographer.com/getting-started-with-concert-photography/

I love reading from someone who I share a passion with. I’m going to a concert in London in January, I have only my standard 18mm -55mm lens on my Nikon D3300, I was planning on buying an 85mm lens, but after reading about the cropped sensor, I’m not sure! What would you (or anyone reading) recommend?

Also, i know you said stuff about taking pictures for free and handing them out without any cost, nut what if you go to school to become a concert photographer, would they be most likely to pay you instead of the others that do it for free and have no schooling for it?
In addition, I don’t have my own camera yet, but I’d love to start taking pictures of famous people. What do i do?
